It's a blurry picture... but what type of duck is this?

We saw this little duck on our walk in the park.  He was very difficult to get a picture of as he was hiding near the bank and moving all the time.

  1. Well Class, you have another interesting bird here.It is a waterbird but not a duck. It is a Little Grebe. The Grebes are a family of diving birds and they have their legs, used for swimming, so far back on the body that they can only move very clumsily on the land.They dive for little fish and insects and also eat waterplants. They make a floating nest of waterweeds and when they have to leave the eggs for a while they cover them up with the weed.
    Another name for this bird is Dabchick.
